John Wayne Ruger ad in American Rifleman

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

Interest in the John Wayne Ruger has accelerated. It will appear as an Editor’s Choice in the October American Rifleman issue.  TALO folks have to be pretty pleased with what is being said about the gun on the SAS forum and on the Ruger forum. We ran out of “It’s a Damn Fine Gun posters…. Thanks to those early responders for their kind words.

New TALO Limited Editions in the works

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

Several new guns are in the works. 2 Colts, a Taurus, a new PPKS, Mossberg & Marlin.

About 1500 John Waynes have been shipped. Dealer reaction has been good. I have heard from a number of satisfied consumers. Ruger themselves are proud of the project. They are taking a gun out to a writer’s confab this week.  I emailed Lee Griffiths to see if he is any more famous for being the designer of the engraving. Not yet. Lee has plently of work on his own merits.

I saw an interesting Oak Leaf Stainless Gold Cup yesterday at the Colt Custom Shop being finished by Colt Master Engraver, George Spring. It featured deep-relief oak leaves, beautifully executed. Serial number Oak Leaf 2.

In the Key’s with Taurus. The company is having a great year and TALO’s business is growing. The .45 night sight has sold nearly 3000 units!
