Colt Sterling .45 1 of 300 Ships

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

The first Colt Sterling .45 shipped to wholesalers last week. They came out great. I think one of our best issues. We also shipped a number of Glock Premier Gold model 19’s. They have a bright polished blue slide with a jeweled barrel and a 24kt gold Glock logo. Initial demand is strong.  Model 23’s will follow this week.

We showed a prototype Colt National Match Gold Cup .45 at the Bill Hicks Dealer Show and at Camfour’s dealer show. It is the first Royal Blue Gold Cup in many years. The NMR has a spur hammer, arched grip safety, polished barrel, Colt resurrected the original National Match rollmark for the gun. The grips are a classy Maple burl. It comes with a pretty fancy display case. 1 of 300. Due to begin to ship in March.
Incidently, The Bill Hicks & Camfour dealer shows were really terrific. I got a chance to see some committed TALO dealers that I had not seen in a long time. I got some great feedback from them. I heard they sold a lot of Mossberg Watchdogs, and Savage MAKO’s and that Classic 1022’s.  I really appreciate hearing from the folks in the front lines, both the good news and the bad. Most of the news is positive. The retail space is extremely competitive. Many of these dealers want to have something different. I look forward to seeing them at the SHOT show.  The TALO wholesalers: Davidson, Camfour, Lew Horton, Lipsey’s, & Valor will all display at SHOT. Most of the others will be in attendence. TALO doesn’t have their own booth but we will be well represented at the above booths. Those folks will know how to find me if you want to meet at the show to discuss an idea.
We have a number of other new items coming out. Some pretty wild departures for TALO issues.

I got a call from a dealer yesterday who had a great Ruger idea. If we can put it together (and that’s a big if due to engineering time and sales volume constraints) I sure will give him credit and the ability to buy them at a special clergy price.
