Sometime in the mid-1980's TALO's current director was working for Lew Horton Dist. They had a regional office in CA. The sales guys in CA. suggested that we produce a bright stainless 38 super with pearlite grips and call it EL Presidente. As yankees we had no idea of how much the Mexican American community revered the Colt .38 Super, but we moved forward and made 350 units. The gun turned out to be a crazy success and subsequently there have been many shades and variations on the theme. In fact, there is a new Colt .38 Super in the works featuring the engraving design of Brian Powley http://www.powleyengraving.com
